Sleeping Beauty Gets Released

The surgeon's optimism about Tir's recovery was proven to be warranted when Tir was released from the hospital exactly a week after he'd been admitted. Amidst a crowd of nurses who had gathered to say goodbye to their favorite patient, Peter happily wheeled his lover out to a waiting car that Moragainne had sent to pick them up and take them to her home. The generous offer to have Tir and Peter stay with her would have been impossible to refuse. Peter knew that Tir would feel more relaxed in the warmth of a real home rather than the hotel, and he would have more space for his temporary office. It was an ideal situation. Peter had made his phone calls, and while he'd been disappointed that Inez said she wouldn't be joining them, he did understand that while he thought of her as a mother, the truth was she was Will's mom and her taking a trip to Ireland to be with Peter would upset him. Things were already on shaky ground with Will and Peter didn't want to run the risk of losing him. He was dreading telling him about the engagement, but he knew that it would need to be done.

Once they were settled in the car, Peter put his arm around Tir so his lover could rest against him. "How're you feeling, baby? We can still have an ambulance take you if you don't think you'll be comfortable."

Tir smiled at Peter as Michael led them to the small elevator. "Real posh, aye?" He whispered, eyes twinkling with pride and a loving amusement at the way the Yank had gone from solicitous lover to Master without a blink.

Peter nodded and snuck Tir an excited smile. "It's beautiful." He took Tir's hand and held it tightly as the three of them got into the elevator.

"It is that and Mora's style on top of the architectural beauty makes it an amazing house." Michael smiled at both men. "I thought you might like a little inside information on the way the household works. There is a full staff and of course Andrew and I. Andrew will be glad to see to any of your needs unless he's with Mora. He's the 24/7 sub, by the way." His smile widened into a grin. "I'm the part-timer, at least for now, but if you need anything and don't see Andrew about, just call me on the house phone. I'll be at extension 3 most of the time, that's my office."

"Part timer?" Peter grinned. "And what do you do when you're not being a sub for the lovely Mistress Mora?"

"I'm her estate manager here in Ireland for both this house and the country estate. Actually, I'm a barrister and met her in London when I went to work at the firm that represents her interests. Mora is rather engaging and hard to resist." Michael winked. "But I'm sure you've noticed that."

"Yes, I have," Peter admitted with a wider grin. "I can honestly say I've never met anyone like her. She's marvelous."

"Trust me, she becomes even more so on closer association." Michael's smile held some degree of pride that his mistress was held in high regard even by those who'd known her only a short time. As the elevator stopped, he opened the door and led the two men a little way down the hall. "You have the French suite. Silly name since there's nothing French about the decor, but about 90 years ago the French ambassador slept in it and it's been called that ever since." He opened the door and stepped back to allow the two to enter first. "I hope you don't mind, Mr. Cavanaugh, but I took the liberty of having extra phone lines installed as Mora mentioned you would be conducting business with your firm in America while here. The second bedroom has been adjusted to serve as an office unless you'd rather a more private accommodation be made. I had thought you wouldn't wish to be far from Tir while he recuperates." Michael opened the aforementioned room to show Peter. "The other room is larger and has a quite comfortable bed. However, Tir, if you need it a different mattress can be brought in. Mora has given instructions that any need you have will be accommodated promptly."

"This is wonderful, thank you," Peter said, looking around, more than a little impressed by the gorgeous surroundings. "The office space Mora's provided will be fine and I'll be sure to let you know if Tir needs anything." He turned to Tir and kissed his cheek. "Unless you can think of anything you need right now, sweetheart."

Tir couldn't help but lean a bit tiredly on Peter's arm, amazed that he was already feeling he'd reached the limit of his strength when he'd done no more than ride in a car and walk a bit. "Could we have tea here, Peter? I think I'd rather that and then a lie down."

"Of course, baby," Peter said, kissing Tir on the forehead. "Michael, we'll take our tea up here, if that's all right." He was already leading Tir towards a sofa as he spoke. "Do you want some painkillers?" he whispered to Tir.

As Michael nodded and stepped to the phone to call for their tea, Tir sank into the couch with a weary smile and held his hand out for Peter to join him. "Tea first I think, otherwise I might fall asleep halfway through."

"All right, if you're sure," Peter said, concern etched on his face as he carefully watched Tir and took a seat next to him. "I'll stay with you until you fall asleep and then I'll just set up my office stuff. Other than that, I'll be right here with you."

Tir mustered a brighter smile. "Dona worry, luv. I'll not fade like a cut flower if y' leave me on my own."

"But maybe I will," Peter said softly, cupping Tir's cheek and kissing him.

"Aye, well, we canna have that now." Tir smiled gently and rubbed his cheek against Peter's palm. "I'll need y' fit and hardy soon enough."

'Yes, you will," Peter grinned, "because we'll have a lot of time to make up for once you're feeling better."

"That we have." Tir grinned, feeling a little bit better now that he was sitting down.

Michael turned from the phone with a smile. "Tea will be along shortly, gentlemen. There is a list of house extensions by the telephone here and also in the bedroom and office. Your bags have been collected from your hotel and your things put away in the bedroom. It shouldn't take more than a moment or two to suss out where everything is." He gave a nod to both men and smiled. "We hope to see you at dinner, but do not hesitate to have it sent here instead if you need." With that the blond left the room with another smile.

"Now that's what I call personal service." Tir grinned. "You know, I could get used to this, mate."

"I could, too," Peter agreed with a nod. "I guess I'd better start working harder so I can afford to give you this kind of life."

"Plannin' t' make me a kept man, luv." Tir teased, knowing Peter was well aware he would never give up the independence of having his own job as well as the fact that he truly loved teaching. "Should I plan on bein' a 24/7 like Andrew."

"Don't take this the wrong way, baby, but I think we'd end up killing each other if we were together every minute of the day," Peter laughed, giving Tir a soft kiss. "I just want to be able to give you nice things like a beautiful place to live and people at our beck and call."

"I'd say y' have the right on that one, luv." Tir laughed as he slipped an arm around Peter, sinking further back into the couch and against the Yank. "But y' know I'd like t' be the one at yer beck and call."

"Oh yeah?" Peter said, settling in a little more and holding Tir a little tighter. "I like that idea, too. I would be a very benevolent master, of course, and make sure to let you know just how much I appreciate you."

"Aye and just how would y' appreciate me?" Tir grinned and laid a hand on Peter chest toying with the top button of the Yank's shirt.

Peter chuckled. "Well, let's see. I think it would have to involve certain body parts and making them feel really, really good."

"Well bein' a very literal man, I'm thinkin' I'll need a detailed description." Tir began unbuttoning Peter's shirt, his fingers exploring each uncovered inch.
