Sleeping Beauty Gets Released

The surgeon's optimism about Tir's recovery was proven to be warranted when Tir was released from the hospital exactly a week after he'd been admitted. Amidst a crowd of nurses who had gathered to say goodbye to their favorite patient, Peter happily wheeled his lover out to a waiting car that Moragainne had sent to pick them up and take them to her home. The generous offer to have Tir and Peter stay with her would have been impossible to refuse. Peter knew that Tir would feel more relaxed in the warmth of a real home rather than the hotel, and he would have more space for his temporary office. It was an ideal situation. Peter had made his phone calls, and while he'd been disappointed that Inez said she wouldn't be joining them, he did understand that while he thought of her as a mother, the truth was she was Will's mom and her taking a trip to Ireland to be with Peter would upset him. Things were already on shaky ground with Will and Peter didn't want to run the risk of losing him. He was dreading telling him about the engagement, but he knew that it would need to be done.

Once they were settled in the car, Peter put his arm around Tir so his lover could rest against him. "How're you feeling, baby? We can still have an ambulance take you if you don't think you'll be comfortable."

"Oh, yeah, completely," Peter nodded, crawling onto the bed and stretching out alongside Tir. "One of the reasons I love you is your giving nature."

"Aye." Tir laughed, brushing a hand over Peter's crotch. "Just think of all I can gie y'."

"Baby, I think about it all the time, trust me," Peter said with a wicked grin.

"Then come 'ere, Yank and let me gie y' somethin' more t' think on." Tir rolled carefully over on his side to face Peter and crooked a finger, motioning him to close the short distance between them.

Peter slowly moved closer and reached to hold the side of Tir's face. "Baby, I don't want you getting too worn out," he whispered. "You should be resting. " Even as he spoke, the closeness of his lover was making his own body react.

"You rest your way, mate, I'll rest mine." Tir smiled and kissed Peter softly.

"Can't argue with that," Peter murmured, moving his hand down to trail over Tir's shoulder. "I kind of feel scared you'll break," he admitted with a slightly sheepish smile.

"Well, if y' hear a creakin' sound y' might want to back up a bit, luv." Tir couldn't resist teasing, but then he cupped a hand t' Peter's cheek and turned serious. "I willna break, m' luv, not as long as I have y' near t' keep m' safe."

"That's all I ever want to do," Peter whispered, kissing Tir tenderly and with far more patience than he was really feeling. "You're the most precious thing in my life."

"D' y' know how much I love y', Peter?" Tir felt like melting into the tender kiss.

"I do, baby," Peter said, the image of the night Tir was stabbed flashing through his mind. "I'm always going to know just how much you love me when I see your scars." His voice cracked at the last words, and he moved even closer.

"Ach, no, luv." Tir brushed a hand over Peter's cheek. "No sad thoughts now. I'm a fit as can be expected and growin' stronger each day. I'll be back t' me old self in no time at all."

"I know you're getting stronger," Peter said, "but I can't stop thinking about what would have happened if I'd lost you. I try to get it out of my mind, but I just can't."

Tir wrapped his arms around the Yank. "But y' havena lost me, luv. Have y' never been told y' canna kill a bad thing." He tried for a bit of humor as he gently stroked a hand through Peter's hair.

Peter smiled, wanting desperately to shake off the sadness that had descended on him. The truth was he'd never been so frightened, and he couldn't help having some anxiety about his ability to keep Tir safe now.

"Then I guess we're both living forever, aren't we?" he joked back.

"Or at least until we're old men..." Tir gave a devilish grin. "Well until I'm old and yer older."

"You're such a brat," Peter laughed, feeling genuinely better as he brushed a kiss over Tir's lips. "Don't ever change."

"That's better, luv." Tir grinned. "I'll have no long faces in this bed, aye?"

"Okay, no long faces," Peter said. "Just long...other things."

"Oh aye? And what might they be?" One hand drifted down Peter's body to toy with the button on the top of his trousers.

"You're getting warm," Peter murmured.

"Well I might want t' be careful then, wouldna want either of us t' get burned if I get too warm, aye?" Tir slowly undid the button and began pulling down the zipper, fingers dragging over the soft material and the growing bulge under it.

Peter drew in a shaky breath as a surge of blood rushed to his cock at the gentle teasing. "You're so good at being careful," he said throatily.

With zipper finally undone all the way, Tir slid a hand inside the Yank's trousers and grinned. "Well now, what have I found here then. Are you trying t' smuggle a snake there Peter?" He groped around a bit. "Nah, it's much to firm fer that. Mun be a copper's billy club, aye?"

Peter groaned softly, moving his hips as he grew harder. "It's a lot more fun than that," he said with a crooked smile before giving Tir a slow kiss.
