Sleeping Beauty Gets Released

The surgeon's optimism about Tir's recovery was proven to be warranted when Tir was released from the hospital exactly a week after he'd been admitted. Amidst a crowd of nurses who had gathered to say goodbye to their favorite patient, Peter happily wheeled his lover out to a waiting car that Moragainne had sent to pick them up and take them to her home. The generous offer to have Tir and Peter stay with her would have been impossible to refuse. Peter knew that Tir would feel more relaxed in the warmth of a real home rather than the hotel, and he would have more space for his temporary office. It was an ideal situation. Peter had made his phone calls, and while he'd been disappointed that Inez said she wouldn't be joining them, he did understand that while he thought of her as a mother, the truth was she was Will's mom and her taking a trip to Ireland to be with Peter would upset him. Things were already on shaky ground with Will and Peter didn't want to run the risk of losing him. He was dreading telling him about the engagement, but he knew that it would need to be done.

Once they were settled in the car, Peter put his arm around Tir so his lover could rest against him. "How're you feeling, baby? We can still have an ambulance take you if you don't think you'll be comfortable."

Peter narrowed his eyes. "You're good," he said, then laughed. "All right, how about after Mora has tea with us, we go lie down and I say hello to the big guy?"

"And do I get t' say my hellos as well?" Tir's hand drifted down to brush lightly over the bulge in Peter's trousers.

"Oh, sweetheart, you can have a full conversation, if you like," Peter said with a soft sigh at the teasing touch.

"Don't know that 'm up to the full conversation I'd like t' have." Tir grinned and gave the bulge a gentle squeeze. "But I'd definitely want t' pay m' respects."

Peter hissed and the bulge grew a little larger. "Mora's going to have a hell of a surprise when she gets here if you keep that up."

Tir drew his hand away slowly, allowing his fingers to drag over Peter as he smiled at the Yank. "Should I sit on m' hands like a naughty lad then?"

"I'd rather you sit on my lap," Peter chuckled, leaning in to give Tir a kiss. "Or my face. Both work really well for me."

"Singin' a Monty Python tune, eh?" Tir laughed.

Still smiling, Peter tilted his head a little. "I don't get it.'

Tir laughed again. "It's a song from a Monty Python skit, luv. It's called 'Sit on my face and tell me that y' love me'. I can see I'll have t' introduce y' t' Python."

"Oh!" Peter nodded. "Yeah, you do. I only thought nerds liked that stuff, but now that I know you do..." He gave Tir another kiss. "I might have to rethink that."

"Nerds, eh? Well that's only because y've not watched enough." Tir gave a wicked grin. "Could be I'll have to make y' watch a lot of it wie m' while I recuperate. Gie y' a proper introduction." As he spoke there was a knock at the door. "I'd hazard that's our hostess come to call."

"Then let me be a gentleman and go open the door," Peter said, giving Tir one last kiss before getting up. "Oh, and I definitely want you to tutor me in the finer things in life like British comedy troupes," he added just before opening the door.

Moragainne smiled have heard the end of the conversation. "And Tir, being a typical Irish male no doubt believes British comedy begins with Monty Python and ends with Benny Hill." She offered her cheek to Peter for a kiss. "Good afternoon, a'chara and how is our lad today?"

Peter grinned and kissed her cheek as he offered her his arm. "He seems to be almost back to his old self," he said walking her over to the sofa and giving a wink and a half bow. "So, good news for all of us who love him."

"Or bad news depending on how much mischief he wants to start." Mora laughed and leaned over to give Tir a kiss on the forehead. "Are you truly up to company, a'chara?"

"I'm allus up to the company of a lass as lovely as you." Tir smiled charmingly.

"See?" Peter said to Moragainne with a little giggle. "His flirting muscle is in perfect shape."

"It's not the only one." Tir gave a droll wink and an innocent grin.

"He's a cheeky little monkey, Peter. I'm afraid he'll take a good bit of training for polite society." Mora laughed.

Peter gave Tir a loving look as he sat down next to him again. "I'm happy to say I've got that covered."

Tir leaned against Peter with a smile. "That y' have...sir."

Peter put his arm around Tir's shoulders and kissed his temple with a smile.

"Moragainne, I have to thank you again for your generosity," he said to their hostess. "You have a beautiful home."

"I was always told the beauty of a home was best measured by the guests who graced it and this instance I would have to say my home has never been more beautiful, my dears." Mora smiled. "Now you must consider my home as yours for the length of your stay in Ireland and know that if you decide to return, you need only ring me up aforehand and you'll have no need of hotels here. The same goes for my homes in London and Majorca or my estates in Wales or Salisbury, lads."

"That's an impressive list of homes," Peter grinned at their hostess. "I might have to take more vacations."
